Dha Dhin Dhin Dha Dha Dhin Dhin Dha Dha Thin Thin Ta Ta Dhin Dhin Dha Did you ever hear or know these notes played on an instrument? Do you know the instrument on which these notes are played on? No! I thought so. Okay, now I will tell you that these notes which at first may sound dull will transform into breathtaking music when played on a Tabla. The Tabla is an Indian percussion instrument that consists of two drums and has a key role in classical Indian music. I started my Tabla classes when I was 7, but was not successful in making any sound for two long years. I always wondered how my teacher and other students in the class could produce amazing music on the Tabla. I was very frustrated, yet did not give up attending the class regularly. One day to my teacher’s surprise, my fingers began dancing on the Tabla and were producing melodious music. Oh! I still remember the day I could produce awesome music with my magical fingers. I could say that I am one of the very few female players who could make music on Tabla. My teachers tell me that I have a great talent and that I should practice diligently. Tabla has taught me how to achieve focus when listening to the sound of a note. I have given couple of performances in NJ and NYC. If ever given an opportunity, I would like to perform these notes to you.
